A man was arrested Sunday afternoon after he allegedly struck another man with his vehicle during a dispute.

Greeneville police were called to the 100 block of Leming Street around 2:15 Sunday afternoon and found 27-year-old Dustin McGhee standing outside an SUV. McGhee told police that he came to the house to drop off clothes when a man ran out of the house at him with a baseball bat, then ran into the woods.

Officers saw tire tracks up to the front door of the house, and the victim said that McGhee was arguing with a woman about the car when he put it into reverse while she stood inside the passenger side door. The victim said he came outside with a stick and that McGhee put the vehicle in drive, causing the victim to go up over the hood before falling off.

McGhee was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and simple assault, while a records check showed that 27-year-old Megan McGhee had an active warrant for violating probation. Both are in custody at the Greene County Detention Center.
