A Chuckey man and woman were arrested Saturday night after a 10-year-old girl walked away from their home while they used methamphetamine.

A caller said that he found the girl along Horse Creek Park Road around 8:00 Saturday night. During the investigation, deputies went to a home along Victoria Lane and were told by 35-year-old William Woodard that the girl was inside the house playing.

According to arrest warrants, both Woodard and 36-year-old Kimberly Henry appeared to be under the influence and admitted that they were using meth and not watching the child. During a search, Henry told officers that they were growing marijuana outside the home and a total of 17 plants were discovered, which Woodard admitted were his.

After Woodard was taken to the Greene County Detention Center, officers found more than five grams of meth in the back seat of the patrol car. He was charged with possession of schedule 2 and 6 drugs and tampering with evidence, and was charged along with Henry with child endangerment. Both will appear in court this morning.
