(Knoxville-AP) -- It may be several months before six young Kentuckians know if there's any hope they'll ever leave prison.

The six pleaded guilty last year to the April 1997 Greene County shooting deaths of three members of a young Powell family.

Yesterday in Knoxville, attorneys maintained each defendant's role in the crime varied and each should have been sentenced individually. District Attorney General Barkley Bell disagrees.

All six -- ranging in age from 14 to 20 at the time of the crime -- are now serving three consecutive terms of life without parole.
