Judge Rules On Motions

Monday, January 20, 2098

Judge James Beckner ruled on several defense motions related to the upcoming Lillilid Trial in Tuesday's pre-trial hearing.

Several of the rulings deal with the jury which will hear the case of the six Kentucky youths charged with the April 1997 shooting deaths of Vidar, Delphinia and Tabitha Lillilid.

The judge denied a defense motion that jurors be allowed to view death row. The state has said it will seek the death penalty for the four adult suspects. A defense motion to question half of the prospective jurors first was also denied. The judge has given attorneys a proposed questionaire for prospective jurors. Attorneys have until the 22nd of this month to respond and suggest revisions in the questionnaire.

The deadline for motions to be filed in the case is January 28th. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for February 3rd.
