Custody Awarded

Monday, July 1, 2097

Custody of two year old Peter Lillelid has been awarded to his Swedish aunt and her family. Following four days of hearings in a Knoxville courtroom, Chancellor Fred McDonald today awarded custody to Randi Heir, the sister of Vidar Lillelid. Lillelid, his wife, and daughter were shot to death in April near Baileyton. Peter Lillelid was the only survivor of that shooting. Chancellor McDonald today said the fact that the Heir family is practicing Jehovah's Witnesses was a deciding factor in awarding custody to the Heirs instead of Peter's maternal family which live in Miami. Randi Heir told the court on Monday of her desire to raise Peter in a peaceful atmosphere and continue teaching him his parent's Jehovah's Witness beliefs.
