Cornett's Lawyer Removed

Friday, April 19, 2097

One of the suspects in the Baileyton murders is without a lawyer today. General Sessions Judge James Carter says Kentucky attorney Eric Conn has not complied with Tennessee rules and has ordered him off the case. Conn had released diary entries of eighteen year old Natasha Wallen Cornett and allowed her to answer questions for a national wire service about her satanic beliefs. In addition, Kingsport attorney Thomas Brady has withdrawn from the case on the advice of other attorneys. A preliminary hearing for Cornett and three other adult suspects in the murders has been postponed until at least May 21st to give attorneys more time to prepare their cases. The hearing was originally scheduled for next Wednesday.
