Karen Howell Post Conviction Hearing Ends

In Greene County Criminal Court, the Post Conviction Relief hearing for Karen Howell ended today.

Testimony in the case began last Tuesday before Judge James Beckner. Howell and five others pled guilty to the 1997 shooting deaths of the Lillelid family on an isolated Greene County road.

Dave Leonard, who represented Howell in the original trial, was back on the witness stand when the hearing continued this morning at 9. Bad weather and scheduling conflicts had delayed continuation of the hearing until today.

Judge Beckner is expected to issue his ruling within 30 to 60 days.
