Funeral Services Held For Lillelids

Friday, April 12, 2097

Three members of a Knox County family gunned down near Baileyton last Sunday were buried today in a Knoxville cemetery. Vidar and Delphina Lillelid died Sunday night and their six year old daughter, Tabitha, died the next day. The couple's two year old son, Peter, remains in serious but stable condition at the U. T. Medical Center. Hundreds of mourners packed the West Knoxville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses last night for a memorial service for the family.

Meanwhile, the six suspects in the murders are still not talking to investigators. The suspects, age fourteen to twenty, are charged with murder and are awaiting extradition proceedings to Tennessee. The four adults have waived extradition, but the two juveniles are fighting being returned to Greene County. The six were arrested in Arizona after being turned around by Mexican authorities at the Mexican border. A Douglas, Arizona police detective says the suspects have not given any statements to officers, on the advice of their lawyers.
