May 20, 1997 - Cornett's Former
Attorney Files Suit
The former lawyer for one of the defendants in the
Lillelid murders has lost a lawsuit against a Greeneville Judge. Kentucky attorney Eric
Conn filed a complaint against Judge James Carter after Carter removed Conn from the case.
Conn claimed the constitutional rights of Natasha Wallen Cornett were being violated by
removing him from the case. The complaint was dismissed yesterday. Cornett and five others
are charged with murder in the killing of three members of a Knox County family in April.
All six are awaiting another preliminary hearing on those murder charges.
