April 11, 1997 - Peter Improving, Juveniles Fight Extradition
The only survivor of Sunday night's shooting rampage that killed three members of a Knox County family outside Baileyton is improving. The condition of two year old Peter Lillelid has been upgraded from critical to serious but stable. His parents and six year old sister died in the attack. Six suspects in the murders are in custody in Arizona. But now, the two juvenile suspects, ages fourteen and seventeen, are fighting extradition to Tennessee. The four adults, however, ages eighteen to twenty, have waived extradition and Tennessee officials are preparing the necessary paperwork to bring them back to Greene County. Tina Naughton, a reporter with KOLD-TV in Tucson, told our news department yesterday that it might be several days or longer before the suspects leave that area.

Another hearing on the status of the juvenile suspects has been scheduled for May 6. However, Tennessee officials are in the process of preparing a Governor's warrant which would force the extradition of the juveniles.
