A man was arrested Tuesday after a traffic stop was made and his license plate came back stolen from Kingsport.

While on routine patrol on Snapps Ferry Road, officers spotted a vehicle and the driver, Stephen Swift of Limestone, had no seat belt on. A traffic stop was conducted and a records check showed Swift had a suspended driver's license. The license plate came stolen out of Kingsport, the registration was expired, and insurance could not be confirmed.

A consent search was made and a syringe was located with a clear liquid in the sunglasses compartment. A glass pipe that was allegedly used for smoking meth was found in the drivers seat. Swift was issued a criminal summons for driving on a suspended license, seat belt law, financial responsibility law, expired registration, and unlawful drug paraphernalia.
